Project Example — Illustrative Scenario
Construction Entrance Maintenance on an Active Site
This is a representative example illustrating the type of work LES performs, not documentation of a specific completed project. Real, photo-documented case studies will replace these examples as current work is completed.
Service Area
Central Florida site with high vehicle traffic
Site Condition
A stabilized construction entrance installed early in the project had seen months of heavy vehicle traffic, and aggregate had become embedded into the native subgrade.
Problem
Sediment tracking onto the adjacent public road had become visible, signaling the entrance's aggregate depth had been reduced below an effective level.
Recommended BMPs
- • Top-dressing with additional graded aggregate
- • Regrading of the entrance pad to restore consistent depth across its width
Work Performed
The entrance was regraded and top-dressed with fresh aggregate matched to the site's traffic load, restoring the fabric-separated base's effectiveness.
Outcome
Visible sediment tracking onto the public road stopped, and the entrance was placed on a recurring maintenance interval rather than waiting for the next visible failure.
What Could Have Failed If Ignored
Left unmaintained, a degraded entrance keeps tracking sediment onto public roads — one of the most visible and easiest-to-document stormwater violations, often the first thing an inspector or neighbor notices.
Documentation Performed
Before/after photos of the entrance surface and a written maintenance log entry establishing the re-dressing interval going forward.
