About LES

Built on Credentials, Not Claims

Local Environmental Services was founded to bring stormwater compliance, erosion control, and certified arboriculture under one accountable team instead of three different subcontractors.

From Tree Care to Full-Spectrum Site Compliance

Michael Feltner founded Local Environmental Services after building a background in tree care into a deeper specialty: the environmental compliance work that land developers, homebuilders, and municipalities depend on to keep projects permitted and moving. As an ISA Certified Arborist (FL9716-A), an FDEP Certified Florida Stormwater, Erosion & Sedimentation Control Inspector (FESCI), and a GI-BMP certified specialist (Cert. No. 35280), Michael holds the credentials to both assess and execute on site — a combination that’s uncommon in the Central Florida market.

That FDEP Certified design-and-installation authority is the foundation LES is built on: most environmental contractors can design a stormwater or erosion control plan, or install it, but not both under their own credential. LES does. That means fewer handoffs, faster turnarounds, and a single point of accountability for compliance — from the moment a site is acquired through final stabilization.

Michael is also a combat veteran, and LES is proudly veteran-owned. The same discipline and attention to detail that defined his service now shows up in every inspection report, SWPPP, and BMP installation LES delivers.

Today, LES works directly with developers, homebuilders, general contractors, civil engineers, and municipal agencies across Sanford and Central Florida — providing the compliance backbone for projects that can’t afford regulatory delays.
